INTRODUCING THE BOYCODE PRO-COHORT
The second edition of the boy code bootcamp promises an inside-out immersive environment that equips 30 young talented boys from
Ages 18-25 with various tech and creative skills.
The objectives of the bootcamp are four-fold.
One, to provide information on industrial skills demand. Secondly, it is also expected that the outcome of the effort will provide actionable plans to alleviate the gaps. Thirdly, it is meant to heighten skills development in Africa.

Boycode bootcampOur goal is to assist young males in developing marketable talents, particularly in Africa and among people of African origin worldwide. The claim is that Africa is not skilled enough and that the majority of its people are not competent at all and cannot compete on a global scale.
Our Aim
Our aim is to help young boys gain marketable skills; particularly Africa and people of African decent anywhere. The assertion is that Africa is not skillful enough; and most are not even skillful at all and cannot compete on a global level.
Skills Development in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities
We found that the high unemployment rate in Africa among other issues has impacted negatively on the economy thus jeopardising national security and socio- economic development. The absence of matching skills with industry need has also heightened the rate of unemployment, especially among the Youths.
The effective accomplishment and achievement of our objectives in these key areas, the provision of relevant education and skills must be vigorously pursued. Here in lies the importance of strengthening Hands-on Training with systematic and need-based approach. There is no doubt that the availability of a relevant and competitive skilled workforce will aid exploitation of the various investment opportunities for job and wealth creation.
Lack of competitive edge and inadequate skilled workforce has brought to fore the need for a paradigm shift in approach to skills development in Africa.

The Boycode boot camp 1.0 was a truly transformative experience for me. From the insightful guest speakers to the knowledgeable instructors, everything about the program was excellent.
The program’s serene environment and abundant resources also made a significant impact on my learning experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned so much and gained valuable exposure to new ideas and concepts.
But the real highlight of the program for me was the sense of community and camaraderie I felt with my fellow participants.
